Movie Review Ghost Rider Spirit of Venegeance

Many people absolutely love super hero films. That being said, I held high expectations for this reboot, “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.” The original film had great effects and an interesting storyline, staying fairly faithful to the comic book character. This reboot attempts to improve on some of the shortcomings of the first, such as the lack of action scenes, the depth of the Rider’s story, and some of the supernatural background behind it.

Limbless Evangelist Nick Vujicic Honeymoons With New Wife in Hawaii

Inspirational speaker and Life Without Limbs author Nick Vujicic was spotted on the beach in Hawaii recently, enjoying the sun with his new wife Kanae Miyahara.

Just before he left on his honeymoon, he tweeted a message of praise to God, saying, “Here we go –WOO HOO! God is AWESOME!”

The two were married a few days before Valentine’s Day at an undisclosed location in California after being engaged in August.

Vujicic, who was born with no arms or legs, was said to have placed the wedding band on his wife’s finger himself while she in turn placed a ring-bearing necklace around his neck.

Committed to being a devoted husband, the 29-year-old preacher hoped to do all he could to be a blessing to Miyahara, who he believes is the greatest gift “after life, salvation, and a relationship with God.”

Days before the wedding, he asked on his Twitter page, “anyone wanna offer some advice for me to help me be the best husband I can be?”

Thousands of people from all over the world who have read his book, heard him speak, or know about his story of faith have flooded his Facebook page with congratulations.

“I’m happy to see you happy, my hero,” Smile Pepear wrote. “Wish you all happiness in your married life!”

Loretta Burn commented, “I met you last year at Nortland and have been a big fan for years. All I can say is, she’s one lucky girl to have captured the heart of such a great guy like you!” Read More…

Overcoming the Porn Problem

When filmmaker Sean Finnegan first considered doing a documentary on the problem of pornography, he knew he didn’t want to merely cite facts and figures interwoven with sound bites from experts. He thought the best way to tell this story was to, well, tell a story – and in the case of Out of the Darkness, now available on DVD, he found a powerful one in former porn actress Shelley Lubben, who now runs a ministry helping others to escape the sex industry and find hope and healing in Christ.

Movie Review :Jack and Jill

This movie surprised me. In one scene someone quotes, “Ye of little faith” and someone else wants to know who originally said that, was it Shakespeare? “No, Jesus”, replies Jack, one twin played by Adam Sandler. He also plays Jill, Jack’s sister. In another surprising scene, an employee comments to Jack, who is Jewish, that a certain person didn’t “look” Jewish. Jack says he doesn’t appreciate that comment. When the same character says to not worry about it, that he is actually an atheist, Jack says, “That’s two for two, buddy”, meaning he didn’t like that either. How often do these examples happen in the movies lately? Read More…

Play Games on Your Phone Without Terrible Controls

Read the original article here One of the most annoying things about gaming on a mobile device (yes, we understand this is an absurd complaint) is trying to control classic games with any kind of precision. It’s pretty hard to time a jump correctly when you’re using a “virtual joystick” that only kind of works. Well, now ThinkGeek has stepped in with the “iCade 8-Bitty” which will also tug at your old-school Nintendo heartstrings …

“The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian.”

Review : Star Wars: Phantom Menace 3D, The

Your family will enjoy seeing “Star Wars” in 3D! The 3D version of “The Phantom Menace” is very nice but it is used in more of a proportionate way, as you see the three dimensional life-like characters and surroundings in front of you. It isn’t the kind in which a creature’s tentacles will reach toward you from the screen or a flying object will seem to come at your head. Read More…

“Many believers remain under constant bondage to some doctrine of works because they think it makes them holy. They simply don’t want to believe that all their sacrifices through the years are for naught. And so, when they hear the message of the cross — that no human striving or works can save us, and that only the grace of Christ assures our salvation — they become offended. They cry out, as the first-century Jewish converts did, ‘You’re teaching permissiveness. You don’t believe in holiness anymore.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. Only one person is holy — Jesus Christ. And all our holiness must come through faith in him.” —

10 Signs you are insecure as a leader

#1 – You see people as working for you and not with you.

#2 – Everyone who pushes back on any of your ideas is automatically branded as disloyal. (Because for you “loyalty” is defined as, “loving everything I say and do!”)

#3 – Every time someone begins to say something good about someone else you always have to be the person who says, “yes, but what you don’t know about them is…” and from that point tear them down under the disguise of being concerned about them. Read More…

Movie Review : This Means War

Two of the world’s deadliest CIA operatives are inseparable partners and best friends – until they discover that they’ve fallen in love with the same woman. Deciding to keep their friendship a secret from her, they pull out their full arsenal of fighting skills and high-tech gadgetry to defeat their greatest enemy – each other.

The entertainment in this film is there without question if you like plenty of action. The plot is interesting as two federal agents fall for the same girl and she in turn falls for them and has to decide which one she wants to be with on a permanent basis. However, the language is strong including one “F” bomb not to mention a bit of a strong sex scene and several innuendos and the violence is also enough as to warrant a three from us, which crosses Dove’s line of acceptability for family viewing.

To the film’s credit, Lauren (Reese Witherspoon) does manage to pick between FDR (Chris Pine) and Tuck (Tom Hardy) and the one not chosen even manages to find happiness as a past relationship is renewed. There is a lot of action and funny moments in the movie but we can’t recommend this one for the family.
